The University of Waikato is one of New Zealand's major
research organisations, playing a key role in the local economy and making a significant
contribution to the national innovation system. The University of Waikato delivers a
wide portfolio of teaching programmes from seven faculties including Arts and Social
Sciences, Computing and Maths, Education, Law, Management, Maori and Pacific Development,
and Science and Engineering. National leadership in Computer Science, Management,
Education and the Sciences has been clearly demonstrated through top research rankings
in these areas.
Over $50 million of the University of Waikato's revenue comes from research or research-related activities. We are currently engaged in more than 400 externally funded research projects and have research contracts with Government agencies, Crown Research Institutes, private industry and overseas partners. Innovation has also been identified as a key to future growth and sustainable development for the Waikato region and New Zealand as a whole.
