Licensing Technologies

Licensing technologies enables industry partners to leverage the University’s research expertise, without having to output the substantial IP protection, technology development, and commercial assessment costs.

WaikatoLink facilitates and manages all Licensing Agreements on behalf of the University. The terms of the licensing agreement can vary, and will be negotiated between WaikatoLink and the interested industry representative

HotHouse Services for Businesses and Industry

The HotHouse has been a valuable technology development resource to WaikatoLink and the University, and has also proven to be valuable to businesses and industry. A number of companies have contracted the services of the HotHouse to undertake technology development and prototyping, market research, and business feasibility studies.

The hothouse has core competencies in: ICT related projects, business feasibility projects, market research projects and hardware (mechanical, electrical engineering, and physics based) projects.
